		Trevor Ablett and Reg Cooper have making knives for over fifty years. They served apprenticeships in the trade in Sheffield and between them have seen the craft artisan based approach change beyond recognition. They have kept the traditions alive and are still producing quality products in the same way they always did. Because the knives are produced with natural materials the handles will differ from those in the illustrations. The Buffalo handles range from very light to dark and we cannot supply handles to particular colour specifications. They are truly little mesters as the independent artisans in the Sheffield knife and cutlery trade were known. All the Sheffield knives below are premier range craft items made personally by Trevor Ablett. The Ettrick knives made by Trevor Ablett have the beautiful shaped serpentine handle and as such have a very nice feel when used. 	Each Trevor Ablett Sheffield made knife comes boxed as shown with a certificate of authenticity. The blades are stamped Trevor Ablett made in Sheffield. The sizes we show for the knives are the total length taking in the handle with the blade open. All our products include free postage within the UK. If you live in the UK the price you see below is the price you pay. All Trevor Abletts knives have polished blades some of John Maleham’s do not.

Because of a scarcity of supply some of the knives are out of stock. These are marked OOS The knives are in very limited production and we cannot supply them in quantity. If you see what you want buy it whilst it is available.

These are the perfect penknives, immaculately produced in Sheffield, England with traditional blade types dating back centuries and made by one of the last surviving craftsmen still practicing his art after probably fifty years in the trade. They are a pleasure to own and are tribute to a fast fading tradition of the proud craftsmanship which epitomized the Sheffield cutlery trade. The origins of these knives date from the time when Sheffield's craftsmen would have their worked smashed on the steps of the Guildhall if it did not meet the exacting standards required. Each of Trevor Abletts knives has a distinct quality. Whilst the stag handles are distinctive the redwood handles give a very distinguished ‘posh’ look to the knives. And having bought one some buyers go on to buying several.
